Now, be honest — how many of you wanted to correct the title of this blog post to “I Am Well,” thanks to your well-meaning third grade teacher? (If you grew up in the ’80s, you know.)
When people ask how I’m doing, I like to say, “I’m good” or even “I’m doing good.”
It gives me a quick moment to reflect on all the ways I am good — and do good.
In a world where it’s easy to fixate on everything we're not doing perfectly, it's a simple hack that helps me see the ways I'm showing up in ways I'm proud of.
That brings me to one of the most powerful little phrases you can use: "I Am."
The Power of "I Am"
Whatever you say after the words "I Am" shapes how you see yourself — and what you invite into your life.
But most of us, without realizing it, create identities we don't even want:
"I am so tired."
"I am terrible with money."
"I am just not good with people."
Imagine the shift if we intentionally chose:
"I am strong."
"I am a learner."
"I am someone who figures things out."
Small words. Big results.
This simple tweak in self-talk has had a huge impact on my life — and it’s just one of the many tools I teach inside my course Unleash Your Inner Ally. (And trust me, if you ever catch yourself thinking, "but I don't believe it yet," I have some hacks to solve for that inside the course.)
