Are You Wired for Growth?

I see you.
You may have kept your love of personal growth quiet because not everyone gets it. But you still do it. It’s your genre of choice. Even when you pick up fiction, you’re in there studying the characters, figuring out what makes them tick. You listen to podcasts while you exercise, clean, or work in the yard. Not just for entertainment, but because you’re always looking for the next insight that helps things click.
You are driven to expand, grow, learn, and evolve into the version of yourself you keep almost becoming.
People who are wired for growth are a rare breed. We want to do all the things and be good at them. Doing, action, being on the move - that’s our love language.
And yet.
Many of us who are wired this way find ourselves on a path to burnout and frustration, unable to bridge the gap between everything we know and actually living it. Sound familiar?
I know all the tricks from the experts. Why am I still struggling to consistently implement them?
I can figure out what went wrong, so why can’t I shut my brain off?
Why do I keep reacting in ways I don’t even want to?
What part of this is mine to fix, and what part do I hand over to God?
Here’s what I’ve learned: living from the neck up - with that brilliant, hardworking brain of yours - has served you incredibly well. But the process of a thought has real power.
When you begin to think differently, you feel differently. When you feel differently, you act and respond differently. And when your responses change, so does everything else.
I know this because I lived it. I had a great life and honestly wasn’t sure it could get much better. But once I started doing the brain work - really doing it - I was amazed at how much better things got. For me, and for the people I love most.
I work with people who are constantly trying to be more patient, productive, and confident, but keep landing back in the same habits. In brain training, we uncover the thinking driving those behaviors so you can stop trying harder and start changing what’s running the show.
One more thing before you go.
Many of us who are wired for growth have a default we’re not always proud of - gaining significance through comparison. Building ourselves up by quietly (or not so quietly) knocking someone else down. If you’ve ever caught yourself doing that and felt the immediate guilt of it, you’re in the right place.
If that one hit home, my self-paced course Unleash Your Inner Ally is a good place to start. It’s four short modules (you can start with whichever one sounds most like you), and one of them is all about the comparison trap and how to loosen its grip. The first 50 blog readers can use code “First50” for $47 instead of $97. Get it here.
We grow here so we can pour out without depleting ourselves. And if you know another person who’d feel at home in this space, I’d love for you to pass this along to them.
High Five! ✋
